Book Update

Well friend, I did something absolutely LUNATIC. I signed up to pitch Editors and Agents at the Atlanta Writer’s Conference May 2-3rd… THIS YEAR… when my manuscript is not complete. I have lit the proverbial fire under my operated and now healing ass… Though this feels more like an inferno wildfire 😅

So what does that mean for me? Besides needing a mostly completed manuscript, it also means I need my query letter, synopsis, and first 19 pages of manuscript to be divine and holy and ready for the eyes of the professionals who hold the keys to one of the main gates of my authoritarian career.

It’s almost as if they are from the ancient lineage of key-wielders in my fantasy series! They hold the key and power to take me to a whole other world, just like the key-wielders have done so for thousands of years for the world of Eveniia. These key-wielders often took Royalty to Earth to experience a world with minimal magic. And oppositely, our Cuban American hero, Kailey, is leaving the mundane Earth and going to the filled to the brim with magic world of Eveniia.

Like the Key-Wielders of lore, these Agents and Editors can take me to a world I’ve never been to before. Hmmm, this sounds significantly like my book. 🤔 Except, after thousands of years, there’s only 1 key-wielder left… What happened to the rest of them? You’ll have to read the book to find out! The book which I will reveal the name of in the coming emails!

If only all these feeble minded humans knew what I truly was. Who I truly was. There was a time all these people would have been my servants, and revered their positions, fighting to serve me. But that life… it feels ages long past. But I shall not yield to this curse placed upon me. No, I cannot surrender, not ever. For I am the Wily Wizard, Willow Wynn! And this wizard never falters… even when transformed into the perfect feline specimen. Nay, I shall find my path to remove this curse and be restored to my original magnificent self! But not till after a treat and some pets. Mmm, yes, treats and pets.

I’m currently reading mistborn from Brandon Sanderson and I would love to chat with anyone about it. So far I’m loving the magic system and how it relates to the story. BUT I kinda don’t love how Brandon writes Vin’s feminine moments, it feels like he fell short there… Do you agree or disagree, if so, hit reply and let me know!

Recently, I found out that a few other people I know have binge watched Downton Abby while recovering from sickness or surgery so I’m making it official… IF YOU ARE HAVING SURGERY OR GET SICK, Please use your recovery time to binge watch the show, it’s so worth it! And honestly, if I grow up to behave like the dowager, I’d be pretty proud of myself :)
